This is fascinating!! This show was on the Discovery Channel tonight. Okay, some key points of the show...
- The more feminine you look, the prettier you are to males. Vice-versa for guys.
- The more symmetrical your face, the more attractive you appear.
- When a woman is ovulating, she is prettier because she has a 'glow'.
- Waist should be 7/10 wide as hips - consider the perfect ratio.
- Brain judges how a body looks by how it moves.
- Haha this is sad. We gravitate toward a 10 but once we realize we can't get them, we keep lowering the number of attractiveness until we can get someone.
- A lot of people match up with their equal in attractiveness but it's not everything to sex appeal.
- On first dates with a person, people aren't focused on what the other says say but how people say it and their voice.
- Guys like woman with higher voices, women like men with deeper voices. (WAY TRUE!)
- The higher voice/deeper voice means more estrogen/more testosterone which ultimately means more sex appeal.
- When women are on their menstrual cycles/most fertile, the voice is higher. Guys in a study chose the same girls voice's when they were more fertile not knowing it was the same girl.
- Woman are choosier when they choose who they mate with because they have to live with the decision for possibly 9 months, hahaha. Women search for clues of a man's status/health to see how they would be able to support them.
- Women prioritize status.
- Women won't marry a guy that's as good looking as them, but they do it in exchange for other resources that will help the marriage like money.
- When a guy makes more money, we find the sex appeal higher even if they're below average.
- The way a guy smells has a huge effect on how women are attracted to guys. When a woman is menstruating, she finds a man's smell to be better.
- All of your senses are engaged when you kiss someone and your first kiss can be the beginning or end of a relationship based on how a person perceives it.
- There's a dramatic spike in breakups around 4 years of being together.
- Men and women are biologically made to stray.
This show was so interesting. I love when you can actually learn something from TV.
