Hair/Makeup Challenge: Day Six

I feel I've been making too many excuses for this, but here comes yet another. So this weekend was Mom's Weekend. I worked Friday night... insanely busy.. ah, not fun. So I got home and still had to clean my apartment. Instead, I talked to people and just relaxed after running around at work nonstop. So instead, I woke up and cleaned, leaving myself little time to get ready. I did get to do my makeup look, but the hair only got straightened.

My mom showed up a half hour before she said she'd get here, so I basically had to go with what I had gotten done already. We were busy the rest of the day, going to brunch, showing her around campus, seeing the baseball game, going to dinner and then seeing Huey Lewis! It was actually a really fun day and the weather was nice for a change! We also watched Burn After Reading after the concert, I didn't like it. It was a very weird movie, especially to watch with your mom. Okay, enough excuses and explaining.

Here's my inspiration picture, Scarlett Johanson:

My interpretation:

I started off with Stila Kitten all over the eye, up to the brow. Then I used MAC Knight Divine, a grey shadow, I got the brush wet and just put it all over the lid. Then I used Stile Sparkle, a gold shadow, and also got the brush wet and put it all on top of the silver. I then blended it into the crease and put the gold in the inner corner of the eye. I lined the top with Sephora liquid eyeliner in Noir. Then I used the NARS Black Moon eyeliner pencil on the bottom (ha, I don't branch out much on my eyeliner choices). I brushed a little of Knight Divine over the black line on the bottom. Then over that I put more gold. Finished with two coats of Great Lash mascara in Very Black. It took a little bit to get the look but I really liked it. The gold on top of the grey added this cool dimension in the light.

So, I took those pictures right after I finished my makeup and before I blow dryed my hair . So here's the only other picture I took yesterday, my mom and I at the Huey Lewis and the News concert!

I can thank her for a lot of my makeup and hair products over the years! Plus growing up watching her do her makeup everyday probably has something to do with my love for makeup now.
